But what does this mean – Let’s break it down.

Fuel Efficiency: 4-stroke engines generally have better fuel efficiency than 2-stroke engines. This is because a 4-stroke engine completes the combustion cycle (intake, compression, power, and exhaust strokes) in four distinct movements, allowing for more efficient combustion and better fuel use.

Lower Emissions: 4-stroke engines produce fewer emissions compared to 2-stroke engines. This is because 4-stroke engines have a dedicated exhaust stroke, allowing for more effective removal of combustion by-products and reducing pollution.

Durability and Reliability: 4-stroke engines are typically more durable and reliable than 2-stroke engines. The design of a 4-stroke engine includes a separate lubrication system, reducing wear and tear on engine components and increasing overall engine lifespan.

Torque and Power: 4-stroke engines generally produce more torque at lower RPMs, making them more suitable for a wide range of applications, especially in vessels with essential low-end torque. 2-stroke engines often need to be revved higher to generate significant power.

Cooling System: 4-stroke engines have a dedicated cooling system, which helps maintain optimal operating temperatures. This contributes to the engine’s longevity and performance consistency. 2-stroke engines, on the other hand, rely on air or a mixture of oil and fuel for cooling, which can be less efficient.

Oil Consumption: 2-stroke engines require oil to be mixed with fuel for lubrication, which can result in higher oil consumption. In 4-stroke engines, oil is typically stored in a separate reservoir and circulated through the engine, leading to more controlled oil usage.

Noise Levels: 4-stroke engines tend to be quieter than 2-stroke engines. The combustion process in a 4-stroke engine is spread over four strokes, reducing the sharp, distinctive sound associated with 2-stroke engines.

Our customised dive boats revolutionise the functionality and comfort of dive boat operations and will change how you dive forever. The space, comfort and long-range capabilities make this ideal for multi-purpose use.
