The winners of this year’s Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have been announced, with a funny shot of a sea turtle slapping a passing fish in the face taking one of the top spots.

Following 3,500 entries to the competition, the winner of the PADI Under the Sea category was Troy Mayne for this image taken in Bacong, Philippines.

Troy, who was born in Bunbury, Western Australia, has been an underwater photographer for 20 years and gained his Open Water dive certification at the age of 18.

Other hilarious winning and commended images from the competition include a happy sea otter, a shocked seal and a laughing dormouse. Tibor Kercz was the overall winner with his shot of an owl falling from a branch taken in Opusztaszer, Hungary.

Categories included On The Land, Under The Sea, Portfolio and Juniors, with each winner being awarded with a Think Tank camera bag.

The competition, founded by photographers Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE, is aimed at raising conservation issues.
