The second voyage of luxurious Red Sea liveaboard MY Carlton Queen ended in disaster yesterday (25 April) when the vessel capsized, though thankfully it appears everyone on board was able to get off the stricken boat, some with minor injuries.

The 45-metre liveaboard, which according to the company website was built in 2022, had been at the popular site of Sha'ab Abu Nuhas and was enroute towards the Sinai Peninsula when it turned on its side. According to reports, the vessel had been listing from the start of the trip, and went over in what has been described as relatively calm conditions.

Details are still scant at the present time – the nationalities of the guests on board is not known, and neither is the current state of the MY Carlton Queen.
