A highly regarded hyperbaric doctor, anaesthesiologist and experienced technical diver has tragically died on a deep dive off the Caribbean island of Bonaire on 17 October.
Australian Dr Fiona Sharp was a regular face on the technical diving circuit, and was often the life and soul of the party at events, shows and conferences.
Details of the incident are not fully known, but apparently she was diving on an AP Inspiration CCR and was returning from a solo dive to 90m when she was found unresponsive on the reef at 24m with the rebreather loop out of her mouth.
