Dive centres and instructors will be overjoyed to hear the news today that swimming pools in England are to be allowed to reopen in July.

As announced by the government, outdoor pools will be able to reopen from 11 July, while indoor swimming pools can reopen from 25 July.

The lack of swimming pool facilities for dive training has been seriously hindering the ability of dive centres, dive schools and instructors to get back up and running as the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown rules are being slowly relaxed.

Today's news is another step in the right direction for UK diving to get back on track, though Scotland and Wales will have to wait a little longer for their pools to reopen.
