A police specialist underwater team is today starting a search for a diver missing off the coast of Yorkshire since Sunday.

The 74-year-old was diving with a group on a wreck some two miles out from Scarborough off the dive charter vessel Francis Anne when he failed to return to the surface. A major search operation was initiated, involving RNLI lifeboats and a Coastguard helicopter, but now the officers from the Yorkshire and Humberside Underwater Search and Marine Unit will begin scouring the seabed at 50m.
