Sadly, the valiant efforts of BDMLR Marine Mammal Medics over the past few days were not enough to save a young fin whale, which stranded itself in the Dee Estuary in North Wales.

Scuba Diver has been following the rescue efforts closely, but hopes were fading when it restranded yesterday, and unfortunately it was sighted stranded once again this morning (Sunday 14 June), with no sign of life.

A tragic end to a magnificent mammal.
