Thomas Ward learnt to dive starting on his tenth birthday in Cyprus. He qualified as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver that week. Since then, under the tutelage of GUE supremo John Kendall, at the age of 14, Thomas qualified as one of the youngest divers to have certified with GUE at the Rec 1 level. He has also upgraded his Junior Open Water cert to PADI Advanced Open Water, and now 16, dives with GUE teams at every opportunity.

Thomas wants to expand his GUE training as his age allows, and also wants to get involved with Baseline and ghost-fishing projects – he recently embarked on his first of the latter.
