Clan Evans has arrived in Grenada for the Dive Fest! The British Airways flight via St Lucia is a painless way to get to this Caribbean island paradise – about eight and a half hours to St Lucia, and then 45 minutes on the ground while some people got off, and others got on, and then a short 30-minute hop to Grenada. They leave the entertainment running while on the ground, so you can stay in your seat and keep viewing your movies to wile away the time.
The temperature is in the low-30s, which meant with the humidity it hit us like a wall when we got off the plane, but no one was complaining after the torrential rain we left in the UK!
A swift one-night stay at the stunning Mount Cinnamon property – what a view over Grand Anse Beach! – and then tomorrow an early start to catch the ferry as we are off to Carriacou for the opening-night party of the Dive Fest proper, but already the locals have been able to get in on the act today with free trydives at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort pool. What a fantastic idea to showcase what diving is all about to the residents of the island.
