Fisherman in Liverpool bay were surprised to see hundreds of dolphins around their boat this week.

A pod of dolphins appeared beside the boat of Steve Bee, 60, and his friends during their return from a fishing trip to a wreck near New Brighton.

According to the Liverpool Echo, former fireman Steve said that he’d perviously seen dolphins in the area, but never so many. “As it was such a nice calm day we decided to take the boat out a bit further to fish,” said Steve.

“After a few hours we were on our way back in, about 15 miles out, when hundreds of dolphins came alongside the boat.

“They were surrounding us and keeping up with us, jumping in the air and looking right at us. It was incredible really.”
