Brian Carney, the president of International Training (which incorporates training agencies such as TDI, SDI, Performance Freediving International and others), has released a video introducing the #DiveStrong movement, which aims to unite the diving industry in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, Carney said: “In the face of uncertainty, the diving industry will remain strong. By joining together, unified under our two dive flags, we will help those of us who are struggling in these difficult times. It’s time to put aside our differences and band together as one force for diving and all of the amazing things it can bring to the world. This unification, this movement, is known as DiveStrong.”
The video shows Carney along with an array of divers from around the planet sharing why they love diving so much, and raising their dive flags in support fo the industry.
He is also calling on divers to take part in the initiative:
Create a video stating who you are, where you are from, and why you love diving.
At the end of the video, raise your dive flag and be sure to say #DiveStrong.
