COVID – 19, Dan World information and updates.

DAN encourages divers and dive operators to comply with federal and state social distancing orders and to stay up to date on the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local government websites, such as the Department of Health in Australia.

DAN Remains Committed to Divers

Divers are natural problem-solvers trained to plan for worst-case scenarios. Even on our simplest dives we manage numerous risks. With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), divers and dive business owners are now managing an entirely new set of risks, many of which carry unknown consequences. While the disruptions this virus will cause remain unpredictable, one thing all divers can rely on is DAN’s commitment to keeping divers safe.

Fortunately, we are well equipped for DAN staff to work remotely, and most of our operations continue uninterrupted. Services offered by DAN remain available both to our members and the dive community at large. Although we have suspended the shipment of retail products due to our office closure, we are still taking orders and will ship items as soon we are able. Our medical and research staff are monitoring the pandemic closely and applying their expertise to identify information and solutions to keep divers as safe as possible during this outbreak.

The DAN Emergency Hotline (24/7), Medical Information Line and Membership Team are all operating on normal schedules. If you have questions, DAN is here to take your calls and emails.

The entire DAN team is committed to providing the full range of services that you have always relied on DAN to provide, but we need your help. We can only do this because of our members and patrons. If it weren’t for your purchase of DAN membership and dive injury (treatment) insurance and your charitable donations, there would be no emergency medical hotline, no medics to answer questions and no research to set industry standards.

From everyone at DAN, thank you for your support that allows us to keep doing the work that we care about so much.
