Buddy Dive Resort announces tragic death of Murphyn Henar

-

Divers from around the world will be devastated to hear that Buddy Dive Resort Divemaster and boat captain Murphyn Henar has tragically died aged just 61.

The ebullient Murphy – as he was known – was a huge character at the popular Bonaire dive resort, and had been a fixture on the dive team since March 1993. I met him on several occasions over the past 20-odd years, and he was warm, funny, articulate and always had time for a chat.

A statement from Buddy Dive Resort said ‘deeply shocked and with great sadness, we inform you of the passing away of Murphyn Henar this morning (26 November). He wasn’t only our colleague, but a dear friend and one of the most-positive people we knew. He will be deeply missed, and we wish his family and friends a lot of strength during this difficult time’.
