BSAC 70th anniversary dive festival comes to Capernwray

Popular inland dive site Capernwray, near Lancaster, is hosting BSAC's 70th anniversary dive festival in September, an event which promises plenty of opportunities to dive, make new friends, and much more.

There are actually two events taking place on Friday 29 September – one during the day, and the other in the evening. They are sponsored by Otter Watersports, Apeks, the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit, and Northern Diver.

The daytime event runs from 10am to 5.30pm, and the cost is £16 per person. As well as being able to explore the myriad sunken attractions in the quarry, there will be an underwater treasure hunt, rebreather and scooter trydives, a photography workshop, the chance to meet other BSAC clubs and a possible world record attempt (TBC).

The evening event starts at 6.30pm and the cost is £15 per person – tickets to this evening ‘do', which includes a buffet, are limited to 100 places, so get your name down quick to avoid missing out. To register your interest, email: northwest.coach@bsac.com, or call: 07940 896807.
